Motorhomes under 26,001 lbs GVWR drive on the standard license
PennDOT requires a (non-commercial) Class B license for any single vehicle with GVWR in excess of 26,000 lbs, explicitly citing motorhomes at 26,001+ lbs as the example; below that, the standard Class C license suffices. Class A is required if towing pushes GCWR to 26,001+ with a trailer over 10,000 lbs.

6% state sales tax, plus 1% in Allegheny County and 2% in Philadelphia
Pennsylvania's sales tax rate is 6 percent statewide. A 1 percent local tax is added in Allegheny County and a 2 percent local tax in Philadelphia, so the pickup location decides what an RV rental is taxed. Short-term motor vehicle rentals can also carry Pennsylvania's separate vehicle rental tax and PTA fee.

ATVs register with DCNR; ride Whiskey Springs or Bloody Skillet state forest
Every ATV in Pennsylvania, except machines used solely for business or agricultural purposes, must be registered and titled with DCNR's Snowmobile/ATV Section before riding state forest trails. DCNR's official trail list covers Whiskey Springs in Clinton County, Bloody Skillet, Martin Hill, Sideling Hill and others, each with its own width and weight limits. Rock Run Recreation Area near Patton is run by the Cambria County Conservation & Recreation Authority, not DCNR, and sets its own permit rules.

Boating certificate: all PWC riders, plus post-1981 births on boats over 25 hp
The PA Fish & Boat Commission requires a Boating Safety Education Certificate to operate a personal watercraft at any age, and for anyone born on or after January 1, 1982 to operate a boat powered by a motor greater than 25 horsepower. Frequently asked
Do foreign visitors need a special license to rent an RV in Pennsylvania?
Visitors from outside the US can usually drive a standard rental motorhome on a valid home-country license under US reciprocity. Pennsylvania's age and weight limits still apply, and a special non-commercial license may be needed for the largest rigs. Confirm with PennDOT Driver & Vehicle Services before you travel.
