Standard license is enough below 26,001 lbs GVWR
NH Saf-C 1804.03(b) requires a Class B commercial driver license only for single vehicles with GVWR of 26,001 lbs or more, and Saf-C 1801.02(a)(2) exempts 'persons who drive recreational vehicles, as defined in RSA 259:84-a' from CDL requirements entirely. So a standard NH operator license covers personal motorhomes under 26,001 lbs — and in fact personal RVs of any weight.

New Hampshire BAC 0.08%; open container in passenger area prohibited
New Hampshire enforces 0.08% BAC for non-commercial drivers. Open alcoholic containers prohibited in passenger areas on public highways.

NH: no general sales tax, but 8.5% rental tax on motorized RVs
New Hampshire has no general sales tax, but RSA 78-A:6 applies the 8.5% Meals and Rentals tax to the gross rental receipts of every motor vehicle rental of 180 days or less. A drivable motorhome is a 'motor vehicle' under RSA 78-A:3 (self-propelled and registrable), so budget 8.5% on top of the quoted rate; non-self-propelled towables fall outside that definition.

Frequently asked
Do foreign visitors need a special license to rent an RV in New Hampshire?
Visitors from outside the US can usually drive a standard rental motorhome on a valid home-country license under US reciprocity. New Hampshire's age and weight limits still apply, and a special non-commercial license may be needed for the largest rigs. Confirm with NH DMV before you travel.
