What Churchill Downs marketing doesn't tell you
Under-shared truth: most Derby-day RV attendees fall in the 35-65 age bracket with $5,000-15,000 trip budget. Average dressed budget for Derby attire: $400-800 per person (clothing + accessories + hats specifically purchased for event).
Second under-shared truth: Derby Day weather is unpredictable (May 2 historical: 60-90°F highs, 40-60% rain probability). Pack for both outcomes.
