One of America's largest state fairs — twelve summer days at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. Bring your truck, pick the trailer.
Fairgrounds camping in Columbus
The Ohio Expo Center runs its own RV camping on the fairgrounds, which turns a twelve-day fair into an easy trailer trip: park once, walk to the midway, and never fight day-parking with a combination rig. Those sites go through the Expo Center's own reservation channel, fair weeks are the busiest of its year, and hookup depth varies across the lots — book as soon as your dates are firm and confirm what your site includes.
If the fairgrounds lots are spoken for, commuting is workable: the Expo Center sits just off the interstate north of downtown, and campgrounds ring the metro within a half-hour drive. Late July in central Ohio swings between hot and stormy — awning in when you leave for the day, vents cracked for the heat. Grandstand concert nights run loud; light sleepers should ask for a spot away from the midway side.
