Arriving in Silver City, NM with a rented RV

An RV parked at a Silver City residence must be inside a structure, or outside in the side or rear yard, or in the front yard only if it is parked perpendicular to the front curb and its body sits at least 10 feet back from the street right-of-way. 'Recreational vehicle' here expressly includes boats, motorised homes, horse trailers, boat trailers and travel trailers.

A parked RV may be used for dwelling purposes for a maximum of 14 consecutive days in a calendar year on any given lot, and for no more than 60 days in a calendar year on that lot without a permit from the Community Development Director. Critically, neither the recreational vehicle nor a parking space for a recreational vehicle may be rented out.

A parked RV may be connected only by quick-disconnect utilities with no permanently attached condition, and may be connected to electricity for charging only if the receptacle and the RV's connection have been inspected and approved by the Town fire marshal. Running the RV's internal-combustion generator while parked is prohibited.
