Ruidoso Code of Ordinances Sec. 58-52 (Overnight camping)
It is unlawful to leave in a Ruidoso park overnight any movable structure or special vehicle usable for camping — house trailer, camp trailer, camp wagon, recreational vehicle or the like — or to set up any temporary shelter for overnight camping. The only exception is a village-approved special event under a special events licence.
It is unlawful for any person to set up tents, shacks or any other temporary shelter for the purpose of overnight camping, or to leave in a park overnight any movable structure or special vehicle to be used or that could be used for such purpose, such as a house trailer, camp trailer, camp wagon, recreational vehicle or the like.

Ruidoso Code of Ordinances Sec. 62-4(b) (Park hours)
Midtown parking lots do allow overnight parking, but strictly capped at a 24-hour period, with overnight camping under Sec. 58-52 still restricted, and the Village reserves the right to tow at the owner's expense after 24 hours.
Midtown parking lots hours shall allow overnight parking to accommodate the nature of business in the district but shall be limited to a 24-hour period. Overnight use related to section 58-52, Overnight Camping is restricted in the midtown parking lots. The Village of Ruidoso reserves the right to have vehicle towed at the owner's expense after 24 hours.

Village parks, recreation facilities, open space, lakes and trails are open only from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted; it is unlawful to enter or remain at any other time without a use permit. Trailhead and lakeside lots close at 10 p.m. — a pre-dawn start from a park trailhead means arriving after 5 a.m., not sleeping there.
