Ocean City defines an "oversized vehicle" as any vehicle, or combination of vehicles, that is either over 21 ft 2 in long or over 6 ft 8 in wide, or both.

What this means for you: The width trigger of 6 ft 8 in is the one that surprises people — virtually every RV, including compact camper vans, is at least 7 ft wide. Assume your rental is an "oversized vehicle" in Ocean City no matter how short it is.
From May 1 through October 31 each year it is unlawful for any oversized vehicle or trailer to be parked on any municipal parking lot, any public street or alley, or any public way inside Ocean City.

What this means for you: This is a seasonal, not year-round, ban and it covers municipal lots as well as streets — so the usual fallback of paying for a town lot does not work in summer. Arrive between November and April and the prohibition does not apply; arrive in season and the rig has to go to a campground.
Oversized vehicles and trailers used by registered participants in an approved special event may obtain a parking permit for $50.00 per vehicle, valid only on the dates on the permit — but no such permit parking is allowed on Baltimore Avenue.
