The two planning anchors are Fishermen's Memorial State Park (within Galilee, 0.5 mi from the Block Island Ferry terminal) and Burlingame State Park (15 mi west in Charlestown — RI's largest state campground at 700+ sites). Both are managed by RI DEM and reservation windows open at varying lead times (Burlingame is the more competitive).
Town ordinance (Narragansett Code Chapter 270) prohibits on-street RV overnight parking and the seasonal beach-lot rules at Narragansett Town Beach, Scarborough State Beach, and Roger Wheeler are strict June 15 through Labor Day. The Galilee fishing village is the working-port anchor — Block Island Ferry (high-speed and traditional) operates out of Galilee and accepts a limited number of vehicles per crossing on the traditional ferry only; the high-speed is foot-only.
Surfcasting and shellfishing access at Point Judith require an RI DEM recreational saltwater license (free, online) and a quahog license for shellfish. Propane refill at Newport Propane (Wakefield, 5 mi) and AmeriGas (North Kingstown, 12 mi). Diesel at the Cumberland Farms truck lane on Route 1 (Wakefield). The Atlantic hurricane window (Jun 1 - Nov 30) shapes any late-summer booking — NWS Boston issues coastal advisories that Narragansett emergency management treats as evacuation-actionable. Best season is mid-June through mid-July (before peak) and mid-September through mid-October.
