Old Man's Cave trail itself has a state-park rule prohibiting climbing on the cliff faces; multiple fatal falls have made enforcement aggressive.

The hiking trails connecting Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave are the headline draw. Logan municipal code restricts in-town RV street parking. Routes in: State Route 664 from Logan is RV-friendly; the smaller state routes connecting park sub-units are narrow but workable for Class C up to 35 ft. Propane and diesel cluster in Logan at Pilot/Flying J and Speedway; full diesel pull-through at Pilot/Flying J Logan or Columbus (50 mi north). The state-park area sits in the unglaciated portion of Ohio (the so-called Hocking Hills) at 800-1,200 ft, with Hemlock-and-sandstone gorge ecosystems unusual for the Midwest. Best season is April-May (waterfalls peak with snowmelt + spring rain) and October (fall color); summer is fine but crowded; winter is for hikers only.
