It is unlawful to park at any time, including overnight, a recreational vehicle more than 22 feet in length, a self-contained motor home, or a trailer on any residential street in Chicago.

What this means for you: Note the asymmetry the code actually contains: a self-contained motor home is banned regardless of length, while a non-self-contained RV is banned only above 22 feet. Either way, a rented motorhome has no legal residential-street space in Chicago at any hour.
It is unlawful to park at any time, including overnight, a self-contained motor home, trailer or truck on any business street in Chicago.

What this means for you: Business streets are closed too, so "I'll just park on a commercial strip instead" does not work. A garage with clearance or a lot outside the city are the realistic options.
The residential-street prohibition does not apply to a vehicle while it is actually and expeditiously being loaded or unloaded of passengers, merchandise or other contents.
