It is unlawful within Springfield city limits to park any trailer or motor home on any street, alley, highway or other public place, except as provided in the parking chapter. Emergency or temporary stopping is permitted on any street, alley or highway for not longer than one hour, subject to any other restrictions on that street.

No person may park a motor home of any description or a trailer on any public street in Springfield for five consecutive hours or more, except that a motor home or trailer may be parked on a public street for up to 48 consecutive hours. Parking on a parkway requires city approval.

Springfield Code of Ordinances Sec. 98.07 (Parking or storing trailers and motor homes outside tourist camps)
Springfield declares it a nuisance and unlawful to park a trailer or motor home on any tract of land, occupied or unoccupied, outside an approved tourist camp — with one exception: a single unoccupied trailer or motor home may be parked in an accessory private garage, or in a rear yard on a paved surface in any zoning district, provided no living quarters are maintained and no business is practised in it while it is parked or stored. The private-property side matters as much as the street side in Springfield: even in a host's rear yard on pavement, the rig must be UNOCCUPIED and no living quarters may be maintained. That rules out sleeping in it on a driveway.
