Arriving in Blue Ridge, GA with a rented RV

Outside the SP, USFS Morganton Point Campground (15 mi west on Lake Blue Ridge) is the canonical lakefront RV alternative with 36 sites and electric on most. Cohutta Wilderness USFS sites add capacity to the south and west. Blue Ridge city code restricts overnight RV street parking in residential and downtown zones; commercial RV parks include Mountain Glen RV Park (5 mi south) and Twin Lakes RV Resort.

Approach via US-76 from the east (Hayesville NC direction) is RV-friendly two-lane; from the south on Georgia GA-5 is similarly workable. The Toccoa River is a popular trout-fishing and tubing river — Toccoa River Adventures and Cherry Log outfitters cluster along the river. Propane and diesel are limited: Maverik in Blue Ridge sells gasoline and limited diesel; full Class A pull-through requires Ellijay (25 mi south) or Blairsville (20 mi east). The fall-color window in late October draws photography tourism — Lake Blue Ridge SP and KOA Blue Ridge book 6-9 months out for those weekends.
