Renting an RV in Eugene: what to know before pickup
Eugene has its own arrival logistics. Eugene Premier RV Resort handles both the first night and the dump station. One street-parking ordinance applies to RVs here — cited in full in the arrival guide.
Dump stations & water
- Eugene Premier RV — $10, potable water
Camp the first night
- Eugene Premier RV Resort · 1 mi out · Full hookups on 80 sites
Skip the classic mistake
Driving Old McKenzie Pass (OR-242) in a Class A
Best window: Mid-May through September — Willamette Valley green season with low humidity.
The Eugene window to avoid
November through April — Pacific atmospheric river events and Cascade pass closures.
What that mistake costs
Pass closes November through June; 4,725 ft pass with rigs over 35 ft prohibited
Day one, after you pick the rig up
- Top off propane at U-Haul of Eugene, 1645 W 6th Ave, Eugene, OR 97402, on arrival day if tanks read below 30%.
- Drive direct to Eugene Premier RV Resort — Eugene Code Sec. 5.180 restricts overnight on-street parking in residential zones.
- Verify scenic-drive open status on Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway (some seasonal closures).
