About these eventsEach one in its own record's words.
Electric Forest 2027. Electric Forest is a camping festival to its core: four days of electronic and jam music at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan, built around the illuminated Sherwood Forest that gives the event its name. It has typically run on a late-June weekend; 2027 dates and the lineup are announced by the festival, usually the preceding fall or winter. RV camping is a first-class citizen here — the festival sells dedicated RV passes with and without hookups, and those tiers historically sell out fast after the initial on-sale, often before the lineup is even public. That means the booking order matters: festival RV pass first, rig second, and match the rig's length to your pass class since the festival enforces size limits by tier. Late June is high season in western Michigan, so rigs from the Grand Rapids market book 10-12 weeks out. Pack for both heat and rain — Michigan June delivers either without warning.
National Cherry Festival 2027. Traverse City is the tart-cherry capital of the United States, and the National Cherry Festival is its eight-day July blowout on the Open Space beside Grand Traverse Bay — an air show, multiple parades, fireworks, a midway and cherries in every form. The 2026 edition was the 100th annual (July 4-11), and the festival has dated the 101st: July 3-10, 2027, with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels over opening weekend. The RV tie-in is unbeatable: Traverse City State Park's campground sits right on the bay in town, walkable to the waterfront festival grounds, in the middle of Michigan's best summer week.
Woodward Dream Cruise 2027. The Woodward Dream Cruise keeps one rule on its own FAQ page, the third Saturday in August from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., which puts the 2027 cruise on Saturday, August 21. It began in 1995 as a fundraiser for a soccer field in Ferndale and now runs through nine communities along Woodward Avenue, from Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge and Huntington Woods up through Royal Oak, Berkley and Birmingham to Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and Pontiac. There is no fee to cruise or to watch and anyone may drive the avenue, but drivers without a classic car are asked to keep out of the two right lanes nearest the curb. The cruise is alcohol-free, police from each community patrol on foot, on horseback and in cars, and the visitor guide lists a shuttle service alongside its directions and parking page.
Tulip Time Festival 2027. Holland, Michigan celebrates its Dutch roots with Tulip Time, an early-May festival of millions of blooming tulips, klompen (wooden-shoe) street dancers, parades and an authentic imported windmill on Windmill Island. Tulip Time 2027 runs April 30 to May 9, 2027; peak color still depends on the spring bloom. Holland State Park's campground sits on Lake Michigan by the iconic 'Big Red' lighthouse, minutes from the tulip lanes — a lakeshore RV base for one of the most photogenic heritage festivals in the country.
Halloween Campground Weekends — Michigan. Late-October is the campground-season finale across northern Michigan. Many parks run Halloween site-decorating and trick-or-treat weekends as fall color peaks.

What guidebooks leave out6 things to know before you book.

- National park reservations open 6 months ahead via Recreation.gov at 10am ET — set alarms for the opening minute
- Wildfire-season disclosure: western states (CA, OR, WA, CO, MT, AZ, NM) may issue evacuation orders during summer — monitor InciWeb

Asked about summer RV trips in Michigan
When should I book a summer RV trip in Michigan?
Book the campground first: set the Recreation.gov and state-park alerts for it, then book the rig once the site is confirmed.
What category of rig works best for a summer RV trip in Michigan?
The dated entries on this page list RVs and classics first most often; each event's page names the rig it suits and why.
What will the final price include?
The nightly rate you see is the rig's complete price. Before you pay, checkout itemizes every line openly — the transparent service fee, any host-set cleaning fee and any tax — with no surprises. See /pricing for the full fee breakdown.
What insurance applies when renting an RV for a summer trip in Michigan?
PickRV is not the insurer and does not sell or offer coverage. Renters arrange their own coverage; hosts may carry their own commercial policy. Confirm your personal auto or RV policy covers rentals — and your summer route and intended use — before pickup.
Can I cancel a summer booking in Michigan?
Yes — every booking carries the platform cancellation floor: cancel at least 48 hours before pickup for a full refund of the rental charges. Hosts can offer more generous terms than the floor, never stricter. Where local government issues an evacuation order or trip-disabling notice (e.g. hurricane, wildfire), the booking may qualify for a review on a case-by-case basis.
