What this means for you: Do not plan to take the rig to the island under any circumstances — this is a flat ban, on top of the island's well-known prohibition on motor vehicles. Leave the RV on the mainland at St. Ignace or Mackinaw City and cross as a foot passenger.
Mackinac Island's zoning code defines a recreational vehicle as a vehicle primarily designed as temporary living quarters for recreational, camping or travel use — travel trailers, camping trailers, motor homes and truck campers — whether self-powered, towed by another vehicle, or drawn by horse.
