It is unlawful to park overnight and occupy a recreational vehicle, motor home, housecar, travel trailer, pickup camper, van or any other vehicle with sleeping quarters on any city street or in any city municipal parking facility, unless the spot is specifically permitted and posted.

What this means for you: This is the single most important rule for an RV traveller in Huntsville and it names every rig class explicitly. There is no hour window and no grace period: sleeping in the rig on a public street or in a city garage/lot is an offence outright. Book a campground or a permitted, posted site — do not plan on a downtown garage.

What this means for you: Almost every Class A, Class C and towed travel trailer clears 20 ft, so any angle-parking or head-in block in Huntsville is off-limits to you even during the day. The only 30-minute carve-out is for trucks actively loading merchandise, which a rental RV is not.
Sleeping in any vehicle parked on a street, public roadway or public land is unlawful, except in recreational vehicles on public land officially established as a trailer camp, tent camp or tourist camp designed for overnight sleeping.
