About these eventsEach one in its own record's words.
Georgia National Fair 2026. The Georgia National Fair is the state's official fair — eleven days of livestock and horse shows, a midway, concerts, agriculture and food at the sprawling Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry, October 8-18, 2026. For RV travelers it's about as easy as a fair gets: the fairgrounds run their own on-site RV campground with 30/50-amp sites (some water/sewer), bookable directly through GNFA — you camp on the property and walk to the gates. Perry sits right on I-75 midway down Georgia, so the fair also makes a purpose-built overnight for snowbirds heading south for the winter.
Big Pig Jig 2026. The Big Pig Jig is Georgia's official state pork barbecue championship and one of the South's longest-running cook-offs, held each fall in Vienna, a Dooly County town right off I-75 between Macon and Tifton — the 2026 dates are officially set for November 6-7. Around a hundred teams cook under Memphis Barbecue Network sanctioning, and the contest anchors a genuine small-town festival: a parade through Vienna, the Hog Jog 5K, carnival rides, arts-and-crafts vendors, and public barbecue tasting. It is about as RV-friendly as festivals get: the grounds sit in flat, open country a few minutes off the interstate, and Georgia Veterans State Park on Lake Blackshear — roughly 15 minutes away outside Cordele — has a full campground with lakefront sites that makes an easy basecamp. Early November in south Georgia is dry-season camping at its best: warm afternoons, cool nights, no summer humidity. Pair it with a Florida-bound I-75 snowbird run — Vienna is a natural overnight on the migration south.
Vidalia Onion Festival 2027. Vidalia, Georgia gave the world its trademarked sweet onion, and the Vidalia Onion Festival celebrates the harvest with an air show, a rodeo, country-music concerts, a carnival and every onion dish imaginable (the 2026 edition ran April 23-26). 2027 is not yet officially dated — plan the fourth-weekend-of-April pattern, roughly April 22-25, 2027. It's small-town south Georgia at its warmest and greenest, and Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park in nearby Reidsville has a lakeside RV campground about 15-20 minutes away, making a quiet basecamp for a genuinely local festival.

Asked about fall-foliage RV trips in Georgia
When should I book a fall-foliage RV trip in Georgia?
Book the campground first: set the Recreation.gov and state-park alerts for it, then book the rig once the site is confirmed.
What category of rig works best for a fall-foliage RV trip in Georgia?
The dated entries on this page list RVs first most often; each event's page names the rig it suits and why.
What will the final price include?
The nightly rate you see is the rig's complete price. Before you pay, checkout itemizes every line openly — the transparent service fee, any host-set cleaning fee and any tax — with no surprises. See /pricing for the full fee breakdown.
What insurance applies when renting an RV for a fall-foliage trip in Georgia?
PickRV is not the insurer and does not sell or offer coverage. Renters arrange their own coverage; hosts may carry their own commercial policy. Confirm your personal auto or RV policy covers rentals — and your fall-foliage route and intended use — before pickup.
Can I cancel a fall-foliage booking in Georgia?
Yes — every booking carries the platform cancellation floor: cancel at least 48 hours before pickup for a full refund of the rental charges. Hosts can offer more generous terms than the floor, never stricter. Where local government issues an evacuation order or trip-disabling notice (e.g. hurricane, wildfire), the booking may qualify for a review on a case-by-case basis.
