The Beaufort Shrimp Festival is a Friday-evening-and-Saturday affair on the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort, run by the city's downtown operations office: local restaurants cook the catch, food and drink are bought with tickets sold on site, admission is free, and the program runs from an art and craft market to a Rotary shrimp race and a kids' corner. The festival's site, checked on September 25, 2026, shows the 2026 edition on October 2 and 3 and nothing beyond it. It states no rule for choosing the weekend, so this page gives no 2027 date until the city posts one. For 2026 the city lists free shuttles and a printed shuttle map, which is the way in from a campground. Hunting Island State Park, in our records near Beaufort, has water and electric sites up to 40 feet and opens bookings thirteen months ahead through South Carolina State Parks.
