Georgia's state barbecue championship — a whole south-Georgia county throws the party. Class A · Class B · Class C — rent the rig you drive.
Flat approaches, lakefront pads
The grounds sit in open country a few minutes off Interstate 75 between Macon and Tifton, which makes the approach easy for a long motorhome: no mountain grades, no narrow downtown to thread, and fuel at the exits. Georgia Veterans State Park on Lake Blackshear, about fifteen minutes away near Cordele, is the practical base with a full campground and lakefront sites.
Book it rather than count on a walk-up. The first week of November is the driest, coolest camping stretch this part of the state gets, and the park fills accordingly. Day-park the rig at camp and drive in; the cook-off lanes are working fires with no room for a Class A to turn.
